Honeywell Analytics System 57 Controller, previously byZellweger and Sieger.

Now obsolete, spares are no longer ailable. A new system controller is needed, the choice will depend on system size and the number of channels required. There are three models for small scale systems;Unipoint,Touchpoint Plus, and19″ rack version.For larger systems, theTouchpoint Procontroller will be suitable.

System 57 was the product of 50 years of experience in gas detection. The controller had theflexibility to accept inputs from combustible, toxic and oxygen gas detectors, flame, heat and smoke detectors, plus manual call points.

Designed as a modular system, the capability could be expanded and customised with system control and alarm properties uniquely defined for a users application. Comprising of control cards, interface cards that link the various fire and gas detectors to the control cards. The engineering card was used for commissioning, maintenance, system health check and alarm level auditing.

Controller cards

Fire and gas control cards can be inserted in the same rack.

5701 gas control card is for single-channel operation, and four-channel operation is possible with the 5704 gas control card. Each card has two inputs 4-20mA and mV forcatalytic detection. Gas readings are displayed and can be viewed in graphical format. Peak readings and sensor performance monitored too. Viewing modes can be changed between single or combination channels. Three levels of alarmand options of individual, zoned, voted, master, time-delayed, update and rate of rise alarm facilities.

5704F Fire Control Card has four fire zone inputs, suitable for pairing with flame, smoke, heat detectorsand manual call points. LEDs indicate individual fire zone status. Each card has two lines monitored outputs for alarm, 15 cards possible in a 19-inch rack giving 60 fire zones.

Interface cards

There are nine versions of interface card ailable (5 for 5701 Gas, 2 for 5704 Gas and 2 for 5704 Fire Control Cards) accepting under 2.5mm 14 gauge cable. Each has relay options and individual control card power option.

Serial communications

A serial communications module is ailable allowing pairing with a remote device (DCS, PLC or SCADA package) allowing channel monitoring, checking and configuration.

Installation

System 57 racking units come in three-unit high versions, length 19 inch 16 way or half-length eight way—rear access, front access option for eight-way version. Cabinets are ailable that can be wall-mounted for both versions.
